Covid -19 and My Impressions -Asad Rehman
My life
before the lockdown was simple but exciting. I used to wake up at 6:00 a.m., get
ready for school, and prepare my books and school bag, my mother used to give
lunch box with delicious food and a water bottle. My father used to drive me and
my brother to school and pick us up post-school hours. I used to meet my
classmates, many of them are my friends, laugh with them, share jokes and
stories. We also shared our lunches together and played together much fun. I
used to meet my teachers, who were simply gracious and knowledgeable.
But life
changed completely post March 23, 2020. The last day in school was March 20, 2020. The phase of pandemic began and lockdown began. If you ask any child about her/his
longest vacation, surely the answer would be lockdown. Although during lockdown
online classes have been going on students needed not to wake up as usual
as they were getting up before the lockdown. If anyone joins the class late now,
one just simply say, “Ma’am it was a network issue” and ma’am agrees easily.
Before
Covid-19 if a child was late in coming to school, she/he could have said, “Ma’am
it was a traffic issue” but then also there was a warning or simple punishment.
Because in online class ma’am could not punish students. Ma’am always kept shouting
and said that she/he hear from one ear and throw it out of mind from the second
ear. But one of the teachers was very strict about homework that sometimes she
even removed students from the meeting. And there was one student he always said
‘shut up! To others. His mic was the biggest problem in the online class. He
always opened his mic and something sound could come like ‘ZoZoZozoooom’. And
the worst part was when he opened his mic after every minute, at least 15-16
times in a class. That’s why he always answered the question asked by the
teacher through the chatbox. He was a 99% non- obedient and 1% obedient child.
He always sent emojis like this. And the shocking part ma’am
never muted him! Now I am in class 6th and that boy is my classmate,
he has the same behaviour as of class 5th.
But I
remember before lockdown when I used to go to play cricket in the playground with
my friends. After 2020 the spread of Covid – 19 was much slower and most of the
people were careless about their lives. Then my friends and I again used to go
to play cricket but after a few months, the news came that literally shocked
everyone. That the spread of Covid-19 is much faster now.
For sometimes
we were going to the playground but after some time the condition was almost like lockdown and where I live it was not allowed for the children to play in the
playground. The playground again became empty. And everyone was caged in the
house. Nowhere to go, No one to meet just like 2020. I watch the playground from
the window of my flat and remembers good days. My Karate classes are also held
online and my examination for the 3rd level of Karate belt was also
held online, I could perform well, scored very well scoring above 80 per cent,
now I got promoted to the 3rd level. Wow, I, my parents and elder
brother were happy.
I wish the pandemic
ends soon, I am able to play Karate and Cricket in the playground with my
friends, meet with them and laugh together. Prayers for a happy and peaceful
world from Asad Rehman.
